About

A little about the blog:

This blog is dedicated to posts and news on the U.S. Women’s & Men’s Nation Soccer Teams,  the National Women’s Soccer League and Major League Soccer.  This blog will cover “The Beautiful Game” and will feature opinion and analysis on games, league news and player performance (pretty much whatever interests me that week).

The NWSL has finished a successful fourth season (a first for a U.S. based women’s league) and gaining greater and greater support and followers.  The MLS was founded in 1993 with the first season beginning in 1996 with 10 teams.  With expansion over the years, there are now 20 teams and two more to come in 2017.  The USMNT is currently ranked 31st in the world by FIFA and has had some recent success while hosting the COPA America Centenario in summer 2016, making it to the semifinals.  While the USWNT has just come off a World Cup victory, but lost in the quarter-final in the Olympics in August 2016.  This was the first time in history that the USWNT had not competed for a metal in the games, but are still ranked #1 in the world.

I am a huge supporter and fan of women’s soccer at every level.  My hope is to see soccer, men’s and women’s, grow and become one of the most popular sports in the USA!

A little about me:

I am a sports photojournalist and recent graduate of Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Photojournalism.  I grew up in Northern Michigan on a small family farm on the shores of Lake Michigan.  My childhood was filled with many hours of outdoor adventures,  horseback riding, rollerblading or biking to the beach, playing soccer, basketball, street hockey and backyard football.  My love for sports began at a young age and the Olympic games were a highlight.  I continue to live an active lifestyle and knew I needed a job that allowed me to work in that type of environment, hence choosing sports visual storytelling as a profession.
